Possible pattern
- "Rather than collaborating by communicating, e.g. via email or IM, students using a web document communicate by working together in a shared workspace."
Is there a pattern here - something like: "Collaboration needn't involve direct communication" or "Prefer indirect communication"? The problem/challenge might be that communication channels between students can get overloaded. If they do, privilege silent collaboration or forms of collaboration that don't involve direct communication. Web documents are one way of doing that.
